First Gloves

N1149794055_2211986_6308 I finished these in December, but failed to write my 31st post of the year recognizing them. Sheesh! Will I try to do better, or will the intervening options of Ravelry and Facebook, not to mention parenting and work, keep me on the blog decline? We shall see. Anyhoo, coworker Malinda sort of asked for these, and I took on the challenge as a gift to her as she made a career move to a new job. The yarn is some lovely unidentified sock yarn I helped Margene destash a few years ago; the colors are perfect for the recipient, and really comfy as gloves.

On New Year's Eve I finished the left front of the sweater-in-progress, Tempest from Knitty. Frances & I bought the same yarn for the same project (in different colors) at MS&W, and she's been wearing hers for months, while I in typical fashion will be lucky to get in a spring wearing or two before putting it away for the fall. I will note my quilt output beats hers . . .

What a great FO and a very thoughtful gift. Very lucky friend you have there.

Those are really pretty and the colors worked well without a lot of obvious variation, as sometimes happens with gloves. Love them!

Love the gloves! This must have been the season for warm hands ... I knit mittens for my girls and both of my nieces. Er, I'm still knitting mittens and probably will be for a couple of more weeks.

Hope you and the girls had a wonderful holiday! Miss seeing you at Wednesday nite knitting, but I wouldn't miss that super affordable dinner at church either ;-)

Fabulous gloves!

oh how LOVELY!
(I almost typed glovely....heh.)
Happy New Year to you and Brotherman
and the girls...
we MUST have a get together soon!
