I didn't win

~ but I'm totally proud of this little quilt that I made for the LQS challenge. We got four fat quarters and I added some other fabrics; I can't for certain remember exactly which were the original four. Mine measured 16" x 21", and appears to be the smallest of the bunch. As I recall, the submissions were supposed to be under 24 inches, and those winners look bigger, but that's OK. The great thing for me was conceiving of a design completely from scratch, sketching it out and then making it happen. I pieced the back a little bit, too, and you can see it on Flickr.

That one was finished before its October 1 deadline, but I wanted to wait to post it until after the judging. Meanwhile, I made another little quilt with the same fabrics, baed on one of the Doll Quilt Challenge group's monthly assignments. Ironically, it looks a little like the first place winner.

That's the delicious Klee cashmere scarf by Axelle de Sauveterre, from a kit I bought in summer 2005, I think. It was my take-to-China project so I could associate the FO with Little B. Yummy!

The new WIP is a lace pullover, pattern from Vermont Organic Fiber Company, as is the yarn. I happened by The Yarn Lounge one afternoon when Stewart was having a "green" sale along with a mini trunk show from Vermont. This sweater caught my eye and I sprung for the yarn, in a green shade to boot, despite my burgeoning stash. Now I just have to complete it in time to wear it this winter ~ for a change. It is nice, however, to know I have a brand new Twist waiting for me when the chill comes on.
